The Wild ManGoes is a Hungarian - Pakistani rock n roll band formed in March, 2015. The group plays all-time hits from Europe, Hungary and Pakistan, music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Its mission is to entertain open-minded people and give them wonderful time and fun.
The composition of the band is the basis for calling them Hungarian-Pakistani group. Band consists of two Hungarian and three Pakistani devoted musicians. Attila Kocsis (rhythm guitar) and Sándor Mihálkó (percussions) are diplomats of the Embassy of Hungary in Islamabad. From the Pakistani side Zeejah Fazli (lead guitar), founder of the FACE (Foundation for Arts, Culture and Education), Muqeet Khan (vocals), emerging media person also known from Blunderland TV show, as well as Ali Tahir (bass guitar), all arounder musician who plays in many bands and who have had several performances all over Pakistan, make the collaboration completed. Most of the members have their own profession but the music and the friendship keep them together when spare time is around. During the last 11 months they played guest Pakistani musicians such as Aaishah, Shamoon, Alan, Sarah, Shaheryar who many times presented to give additional quality to Wild ManGoes. Continuous support and critical view from the family members and friends of the band are also very important when progress is at stake.
As a hobby band rehearsal time is limited to only once a week preparing generally for the next gig in Islamabad. FACE, the Islamabad cultural hub, provides the band with a strong background as it can use its venue and other facilities. The Hungarian Embassy in Islamabad has shown occasionally a great help to the band and the Ambassador, who himself is a music lover, always says that „as many times I see you guys playing as many times you sounds better”. He also makes use of the group when diplomats, high level Pakistani officials and Pakistani business circles are to be entertained during official occasions in Islamabad. Private events and diplomatic events are also in the list for the band to play.
The concept behind Wild ManGoes is the cultural diplomacy which contributes to understand each other and the good relationship between the people of Hungary and Pakistan. Among the fans of the band you can find Pakistani people from the middle class, youngsters, universities’ students and more.
“Now we are working on our first own song” - saying Attila Kocsis of Hungary, who composed the song, and he added that they planned to shoot a video as well. “The song is about a man who starts to follow his desires to break free from the prosaicism of the weekdays.” The band has become mature enough to record and play this and continue its mission to entertain people.
